For some people the  following are only just numbers, but, especially for us, behind each number there s a name, a story, a cat or dog suffering and much, much work done by Pro Animal Gomera (PAG) and Förderverein Animal La Gomera (FALG).

From 1 January 2008 through 31 December 2008...

  • 64..........................dogs were adopted out to new homes.

  • 8............................cats were adopted out to new homes.

  • 15..........................animals were treated for various sicknesses and/or accidents

  • 101........................cats were sterilized of which 145 were female.

  • 10...........................female dogs were spayed.

  • 18889,43 €..............were paid for veterinary costs.

  • 15 members

  • An educational program for children from 6 to 9

  • 8 complaints and cases taken to court

  • Dozens of official mails and articles in the press

A special thanks to:

  • All anonymous donors and people who have adopted one of our animals.

  • Our new members for their help and financial collaboration.

  • To the volunteers of the island and members of  Förderverein Animal La Gomera (FALG) who helped trapping cats for sterilization.

A special call for:

  • ALL the people who have an interest in the welfare of the animals on Gomera.  We need your help and collaboration.

  • Become one of our members.............It really doesn't cost much.

  • Foster an abandoned animal for a few days or weeks......it will cost you nothing.

  • Have your animal sterilized...PAG pays everything to sterilize wild female cats.

  • Don't buy a dog or cat.....there are many abandoned animals and, even if they have no pedigree, they are full of love and very thankful.
