For
those persons who would like to know how our injured female cat is doing, I
want to say that she is walking almost fine now. We hope we can spay her
next week and then she will go back to her neighborhood.
After months of
trying, a female cat was finally trapped near the harbor. This
particular lady was bearing kittens every 4 months and her babies usually died
within their first month of life. Last time, a member of PAG
found her 4 kittens and brought them to the local vet clinic, where
they remained for a week (Cost, more than 60 euros), but nothing could be done
to save their lives. The mother is quite wild and very clever, but thank
goodness, she can now be spayed and start living her own life...
Another
female from Calera has also been spayed and her sister will be trapped next
week. These 2 girls already had 5 kittens each a few months ago (3 died) and
live with their "Macho" (male). If nothing were done, in a few
years, we would have a nice community of about 50 or more hungry and/or sick
cats and many upset neighbors …
