Example of Flight Sponsoring

13 March
2006
We have
already explained somewhat how Flight Sponsoring works for our organization
and
naturally,
for our four footed friends. Below, are some pictures and a
small explanation of how we had "Sammy" and "Misero"
flown here to Germany. I naturally will not name the Flight Sponsor,
but will again thank them profusely here. The young lady shown in the
pictures is Fredrika, from Sweden, who has volunteered her time and energy
to help the local Animal Protection Association (PAG) for a few months.
Anyway,
the story began when the PAG was fortunate enough to find a couple willing
to sponsor two dogs for transport from Tenerifa to Bremen. Both
dogs needed to leave the Island at the earliest opportunity, Misero was
adopted, sight unseen (just pictures) and Sammy just needed to give up his
foster home on the Island.
In this case,
Fredrika with dogs and transport carriers
arrived at the Tenerifa South Airport prior to the sponsors. She
met up with sponsors, introduced them to the dogs, helped them check in and
get the dogs and carriers through security, payed any and all fees and waved
at the plane as it took off.
The sponsors
and the dogs arrived in the evening and were met by a representative of FALG,
who relieved the sponsors of their responsibilities. Our
representative then transported both dogs to their new foster home.
Mirero was picked up the next day by his new family and Sammy is adjusting
to fields of green (farm).
