San
Sabastian Helps the Cause...
Last
Friday, October 5 th,
Pro Animal Gomera (PAG) signed an agreement
with the city hall of San Sebastian to spay feral and half feral
female cats all around the county.
Great news, as the € 10 000 set aside for this purpose
will assist in improving the present situation of these cats.
This action will also help those people who feel plagued by
the over populated cat community.
PAG
is once again asking for the cooperation of all of it’s
neighbors in the San Sabastian community to assist in these
efforts. All citizens
are asked to report any cat colonies in their area to PAG (tel.
Nr. 922-80-58-55) and may further help by bringing any feral or
half feral female cats directly to one of the local veterinary
clinics for spaying. Once
those cats have been properly sterilized, citizens are asked to
pick up “their” cats and return them to where they were caught
or picked up. Together
we can help bring down the cat population numbers to something
more controllable.
Pag
wishes to remind everybody that the spaying of our female cat
population has many advantages and very few, if any,
disadvantages.
It
is our hope that more counties / communities on the Island will
follow the example shown by Mayor D. Manuel Herrera and his team.
To them our most gracious thank you.
