Pro Animal Gomera wishes a good New Jear 2009

The year 2009 has just begun and we of Pro Animal Gomera would like to wish all readers. members and interested persons luck and satisfaction for the new year.

We do not wish to thank just the helpers who supported us during 2008 through their phone calls and their e-Mails, but also the press which made it possible for the Association Pro Animal Gomera to better introduce themselves to the public and to help make known uncovered abuses.

2008 is ending and leaves on one side many sad memories:  a large number of abandoned and mistreated animals, promises that were made and (again) never fulfilled, and another year of fighting a disinterested government.

2008 presented us with some wonderful memories.  For instance, the weak, almost starved, Pointer, Esperanza, who year long, was chained to an oxidized metal drum is now living like a queen on soft rugs  in her new home in Germany, covered with much love and affection... Banya and her four puppies, abandoned in the mountains of La Gomera, now all happy with their new owners... Tullo, a medium sized dog, abandoned and hit by a car, couldn't have it any better as he has with his new adoptive family... Diafy, an almost dead cat found in San Sebastian, has, after a few operations. become a very beautiful cat and has found a good home...

Every day we are happy about the many animals we have been able to help during the past year and it gives us courage and  strength to do more.

2008 was also the year that we began to teach the smallest Gomero's to help them understand how one must properly take care of animals and that they must not mistreat or abandon them.

We were able to win new members for PAG and have many who have offered their willingness to help.

We are moving into the year 2009 with much hope and trust.  We have planned many new projects and hope that more people will help and work with us.

May this new year, for us and for the animals, be good and successful.

We wish you all a good new year 2009.
