There are still miracles! There are still people who
have a heart for an abandoned Podenco! We, at Pro Animal Gomera (PAG)
and Förderverein Animal La Gomera (FALG), find it sensational.
A Podenco,
that was apparently abandoned, was seen many times In Las Hayas, a
village just above Valle Gran Rey. He was thin to the bone and was
sometimes fed by tourists.
Not every
tourist knows about the local animal protection organization, Pro
Animal Gomera (PAG), so Stefanie flew back to Germany without making
contact. Now at home, she could not get the Podenco, which she had
named “Lupo”, out of her head. She searched for, found and made
contact with the animal protection association, FALG, the German
sister organization of PAG. She asked us to search for Lupo and, if
possible, to send him to Germany. She wanted to give him a new home.
Lupo was
found and was placed into a foster home, where he was de-wormed and
introduced to the local Vet. He received the necessary immunizations,
an EU Pet Passport, and was micro-chipped. He is now waiting for a
flight so that he can finally go to his new home.
Lupo is a
fabulous dog, a Podenco! He sleeps on his blanket, doesn’t chase the
cats, plays with his ball and loves to be petted. He is very
beautiful and we are all happy that this special dog will be getting a
new home in Germany.
